Explore These Great Spots for Hiking With Your Dog
Stroll The River Trail in Downtown Hawley
One of the best hiking spots in the area is right outside the door at Ledges Hotel! Take the trail along the Lackawaxen River in downtown Hawley, PA. You’ll get a great view of the river as well as our quaint town. The path takes you to Bingham Park, a large, lush park with plenty of room for you and your dog to explore. This is an especially great path if you’ve never visited with us before. You’ll love getting an introduction to the area and your dog will love all the smells and sights along the river!
Explore Tobyhanna State Park
About 40 minutes from Ledges Hotel is Tobyhanna State Park. Named for the Tobyhanna Lake, this park features three hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult. Guests with their pets should stick with the shortest and easiest one, Lakeside Trail. The path has a hardened base and portions of it are paved. This makes it an easier hike for older dogs or any pups not experienced with hiking. This is the only trail in Tobyhanna State Park that doesn’t feature any rock hopping, making it ideal for exploring with your dog! It circles the Tobyhanna Lake and takes a little over two hours to complete.
Discover Promised Land State Park
Promised Land State Park is just a 20-minute drive from Ledges Hotel and features two lakes, several small streams, and 50 miles of hiking trails! Pets are welcome on all them as long as they are on a leash shorter than six feet. If you’ve never visited Promised Land State Park, stop by the park office to grab a guide to Conservation Island. Or you can follow the Bruce Lake Trail to a natural glacial lake! This is a truly stunning park and one that you will be so fortunate to share with your furry friend!
