Exciting Things to do in Hawley, PA This October

Here at Ledges Hotel, we are so excited for the coming of fall! We are ready for the cooler weather, the change in the leaves, and of course some exciting events that are coming the next few months. October is a particularly fun month for the residents and visitors of Hawley. We have a ton of activities for the whole family to enjoy, a lot of them happening in our own Hawley Silk Mill. Our team at Ledges Hotel has gotten together and came up with some suggestions of things to do in Hawley, PA that will be a lot of fun.

The first in our list of things to do in Hawley, PA starts Columbus Day weekend. For our region, this is a very special weekend. Not only is it a long weekend, for some, but also this weekend is usually the pinnacle of the fall leaves changing colors too. This year there will be a Columbus Day Brunch at The Settlers Inn on Monday, October 13th. If you are not familiar with The Settlers Inn, it is one of Hawley’s premier B&B’s. Their in-house restaurant uses the freshest ingredients with the utmost of care to deliver a fantastic meal. The Columbus Day Brunch will be held from 11-2:30. Be sure to check out their amazing menu.

The next in line for things to do in Hawley, PA this October is happening on Friday, October 17th here at our Glass Restaurant inside Ledges Hotel. We will be hosting a special dinner featuring dishes from the Pacific Northwest. Our guest chef for the evening is David Campiche who is a chef at The Shelborne Inn in Seaview, Washington. He will prepare some amazing recipes using the local seasonings and flair that are synonymous with his region. Guests will have a delicious 5 course meal on our decks that overlook Paupack Falls, all for a steal at $95 per person. When you combine a delectable meal and the gorgeous views of the falls, it really sets the mood for an unforgettable evening. Be sure to check out the menu and grab your partner, or a favorite friend, and be sure to mark this night in your calendar.

Our next event happens the next few days, Saturday October 17th-19th, the Hawley Harvest Hoedown. This is a day that all of the residents of Hawley have been looking forward to. The whole community will have different events however; there are 2 that are worth mentioning. From noon to 6 at the Hawley Silk Mill is Oktoberfest. There will be some local craft breweries displaying their newest brews, be sure to look out for Three Guys and a Beard, Susquehanna Brewing Company, and Weyerbacher Brewing. They will also have some amazing German style food featuring meats from the Alpine Wurst House and live music by The Scott Weiss Band and Country Crush.  Also, that night at Ritz Theater, there will be an amazing Bluegrass concert presented by Harmony Presents. This community event is one that everyone will enjoy.

On October 19th, the Lake to Lake 8K Trail Run at the Lacawac Sanctuary. This fun run will start at 11 am and the trail run will wind through parts of the 400 acres that are teeming with beautiful wildlife. Registration starts at 9 am and there will be 2 different courses, the 8K course is for runners only, no dogs or strollers since it can be technical and rocky. However, everyone is welcome on the Woods Walk Course.

To close the month, our list of things to do in Hawley, PA concludes with a fun Halloween parade. Before you take the kids out trick or treating, meet everyone at 5 pm at Church and Main Streets to walk through the town and show off everyone’s costume. After getting the kids in bed, head over to Glass Restaurant at Ledges Hotel from 8 pm to midnight for a fun 70’s themed Halloween party. There will be music, prizes, and fun decorations.

October is a fun time for residents as well as guests. They never have a shortage of things to do in Hawley, PA.
