The first is located in the nearby Hawley Silk Mill, The Looking Glass Art Gallery. The Looking Glass is owned by Millie and Juan Espino and they have worked very hard to turn their space into a stunning art gallery. They have works that span the globe from New York City to Germany, Mexico, and even Hong Kong. They also enjoy showcasing local artists as well and love helping those who collect art finding the perfect piece for them. The artists that they feature can be found on their website and some of those include William Amptman, Rosalie Booth, Mimi Nardine, Steven White, and many more. Many of the artists have their own page on the site so you can peruse some of their works and understand the type of work they do.
The next of the local art galleries we want to mention is right here at our own Ledges Hotel. Besides being a place to stay, there are so many other things that we want to do to give back to the community and one of them is to promote local art. As you meander through the common areas of our hotel you will be able to see all of the artists that we have. Not only do we showcase paintings but sculptures and photographs as well. One artist in particular we would like to mention is Gregory Pelly. He is new to us at Ledges Hotel but you will quickly see why we had to have his art in our hotel. His oil paintings are stunning and reflect the world around us that we live in. He routinely paints scenes from Pennsylvania that are stunning. Most of the work that you will see in our hotel is for sale so if something interests you, be sure to ask one of our staff members about purchasing it.
