1. Hopping Eagle Brewing Company
The newest brewery in Hawley is located just steps from Ledges Hotel on the ground level of the Hawley Silk Mill. Hopping Eagle Brewing Company is a family affair that sprang from one owner’s passion for home brewing. The nano-brewery is a one barrel operation with eight fermenters, which means eight types of beer can be on tap at one time. Visitors may sample seasonal specials as well as staples such as Indian Pale Ale, a Double IPA, a Stout and a Blonde Ale. The industrial atmosphere of the former silk mill building is accented by rustic furnishings, antiques and collectibles.The offerings also include options for non-beer drinkers and munchies such as popcorn. Hopping Eagle Brewing Company is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
2. Stoudts
Located in Adamstown, Stoudts is a lot of fun to visit. They are open every afternoon and seasonally on Sundays. Started in 1987, the owners have been the leaders in the beer movement here in PA. They have year-round beers, seasonal beers, and reserve beers for you to sample. They also offer tours on Saturdays and Sundays. If you are looking for a great meal, be sure to stop in their beautiful restaurant for a bite.
3. Neshaminy Creek Brewing
If you are looking for a wonderful place to try a beer, hang out, and play games, Neshaminy Creek Brewing is for you. Located in Croydon, PA, these brewers use nearby creek water for all of their beer. What you get from that is something outstanding and refreshing. They have several year-round, seasonal, special, and limited edition beers.
4. Nimble Hill Brewing Company
This brewery is truly farm-to-bottle. Nimble Hill Brewing Company grows their own hops and has a 15-barrel farm-style brewery. Along with that, they have a winery on-site too. If you would like to sample the beer, visit their Growler Den in Tunkhannock, PA. The styles of beer that they offer are varied. You can find wheat beers, pale ales, IPAs, porters, and stouts.
5. ShawneeCraft Beer
Head over to ShawneeCraft Beer for an excellent brewery tour! They offer tours Wednesday-Saturday at 4 p.m. You will get a chance to learn more about their process and what makes their beers different from others. They also have Tap Room hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Beer Tasting Events at Our Properties
Don’t miss our annual Oktoberfest event at the nearby Hawley Silk Mill. This festival is held in early fall and is the perfect time to sample beer, food and celebrate the season.
Our Winter Beer Tour is another event tailor-made for beer lovers. The Beer Tour, held in early December, involves visiting each of our properties, Hawley Silk Mill, Silver Birches, Settlers Inn and Ledges Hotel, of course. Sample delicious beer and appetizers and enjoy the holiday decorations.
