5 Fun Fall Festivals in PA

campfireWhen it comes to fall in the Pocono Mountains, we here in Hawley have a lot to celebrate. The weather starts to cool down, the sun sets a bit earlier and we can all enjoy beautiful sunsets and of course we have a lot of amazing fall festivals in PA to enjoy as well. We at Ledges Hotel love having guests in the fall. We get to show them a truly beautiful side of the Pocono Mountains as well as suggest one of the many fall festivals in PA that happen during this time. Let’s have a look at some of our top suggestions for this fall.

We are going to organize our fall festivals in PA by date so you can easily see what will be available while you are here. The first of our fall festivals in PA is being held at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and is their Harvest Festival. Starting August 30th, this amazing festival will be held every Sunday in September. This festival strives to embody fall, family, and fun. All of the activities are family-friendly and include classic games as well as face painting and music. There will also be a craft fair and a farmers market.

Next up in our fall festivals in PA is Hawley’s own Hawley Harvest Hoedown. This festival has become a staple in our community and is a great way for the locals as well as visitors to get a great idea of what makes our area of the Pocono Mountains so amazing. The Hawley Harvest Hoedown will be held the weekend of October 2nd-4th and will include a craft fair, farmers market, live music, a pumpkin carving demonstration, and more. Next we head back to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts for their Craft Beer Festival. Craft beer has been on the rise recently and we in the Pocono Mountains love the products that have come out. Of all of the fall festivals in PA, this one will be truly great. This festival will be held on October 10th and will not only feature craft beer but a chili cook-off as well. This will be a day to enjoy some live music, great beer, and some fantastic chili. There are general admission tickets as well as VIP tickets which include admission to their museum as well.

Next in our list of fun fall festivals in PA is the Black Bear Film Festival which is held in Milford, PA October 16th-18th. As with all film festivals, this one is sure to be terrific. They use this time to support, promote, and celebrate the arts as well as independent filmmakers. They will host movies all around Milford and their 2015 schedule hasn’t been released yet so be sure to check back in mid-September to see a full schedule of times as well as movies that will be screened.

The last of our fall festivals in PA is one type of festival that is anticipated every fall all over the U.S. as well as Europe, Oktoberfest. There will be Oktoberfest celebrations all over PA in the fall, but one in Hawley that we wanted to highlight was Germanfest at Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Banquet Center on Lake Wallenpaupack.
