If adventure is what you seek, then canoeing is for you. This activity does require some skill. The Delaware River can be considered anywhere from a Class 1 to a Class 3 river, depending on time of year and weather conditions. Canoeing is for ages 10 and up and is recommended to have at least 2 adults while paddling. Canoeing can take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours to complete and paddling is leisurely but fairly constant.
For those of you who love to dip a paddle on the wild side, then kayaking is just the thing to get your blood flowing. Out of the choices, kayaking is considered the most adventurous and is for ages 10 and up with advanced water skills. A kayaking trip can be from 3 to 5 hours and is a great idea for not only individuals but for groups as well. Everyone can stick together and at any point break off to discover some of the Delaware yourself and meet back up further down the river.
