Landers River Trips: Rafting, Kayaking, and More

The days are getting hotter and the number one thing on everyone’s mind is how to cool off. Landers River Trips combine fun and beating the heat. You can navigate your way down the Delaware River in a multitude of ways, depending on how adventurous your spirit is and your skill level. Located in Narrowsburg, NY, you will be amazed at the views of the Pocono and Catskills Mountains while enjoying your time outdoors. Landers River Trips have been taking people down the river since 1955, and will do their best to accommodate your group in any way they can.

For those of us who love to float down the river and just enjoy the view, the best option is to go tubing. Tubing down a river is the most relaxing way to drink in your time on the water. Tubing is for any skill level, even those that have none. It is recommended for ages 5 and up and is the only option where you can go to other rivers and streams and includes a shuttle back to your starting point. You can go down the river as many times as you please. It can take from 5 to 6 hours to complete, however, timing depends on which rivers you choose.

If you want to work a few muscles while going down the Delaware, rafting would be a great choice. This requires a minimal skill level and is recommended for ages 5 and up, at least 40lbs. and can swim. A rafting trip can take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours and is preferred to have at least 4 adults in a raft. Rafting is a steal at $45 and includes paddles, life jackets and safety instructions.

If adventure is what you seek, then canoeing is for you. This activity does require some skill. The Delaware River can be considered anywhere from a Class 1 to a Class 3 river, depending on time of year and weather conditions. Canoeing is for ages 10 and up and is recommended to have at least 2 adults while paddling. Canoeing can take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours to complete and paddling is leisurely but fairly constant.

For those of you who love to dip a paddle on the wild side, then kayaking is just the thing to get your blood flowing. Out of the choices, kayaking is considered the most adventurous and is for ages 10 and up with advanced water skills. A kayaking trip can be from 3 to 5 hours and is a great idea for not only individuals but for groups as well. Everyone can stick together and at any point break off to discover some of the Delaware yourself and meet back up further down the river. Landers River trips offer sit in, touring, and double kayaks to meet any kayaker’s needs.
