When deciding on where to spend a part of your summer vacation, before settling on anything, visitors usually check out any festivals or events in the area to see how to plan their time. Here at Ledges Hotel in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, we love helping our guests plan out their time here with fun activities as well as events. However, as with most festivals, they are only one day and can easily be missed. For our Wildflower Music Festival, that is just not the case. This amazing music festival is held at different times throughout the summer which is great for locals as well as travelers of any time. Come check out what makes the Wildflower Music Festival such a great time!
The Wildflower Music Festival is hosted by the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary and runs in July and August. It’s easy to see why the Wildflower Music Festival is so popular. When you get to listen to fantastic musicians in such a beautiful location it attracts visitors every year. Every year couples and families bring picnics and enjoy a wonderful evening on the lawn. Now let’s move on to the Wildflower Music Festival. The first concert is on July 5th at 6 pm and will feature The Rodney Mack Philadelphia Big Brass. Their concert will focus on great names like Harry James, Glenn Miller, Leonard Bernstein, and many more. The next concert will be on July 12th at 6 pm and would be Max Zorin. This soloist is known for his amazing accomplishment on the violin and has been all over the world showcasing his talent. That night’s performance will be with pianist Chris Guzman and they collectively will be outstanding. On July 19th, enjoy The Hillbenders, a bluegrass quartet from Missouri. Their interesting sound is created by mixing all of their instruments in a different way that produces an upbeat tune that everyone loves to move to. July 20th is a special day for the Wildflower Music Festival, this day the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary will host a free concert, the Steppingstones Young Artists Concert. Enjoy this great concert that honors the memory of former artistic director Jane Zwillinger Ables. To end the month of July, the Pre-War Ponies will be playing on July 26th. Their style is exactly like their name, pre-war. They play great tunes from the 30’s and 40’s, both well-known and obscure. August starts us off with Maureen McGovern on August 9th. She will be singing some of her hits from the past decades that have gotten her two Grammy nominations in her lifetime. The last concert will be on August 16th with Back Home Again, a John Denver tribute band. Sit back and relax and listen to the voice of Tom Becker as he takes you back with John Denver’s biggest hits.
Tickets for the Wildflower Music Festival shows are generally $22 for adults, $11 for Students (aged 6 to 18) and under 6 are free except at special concerts. If you want to go to more than one concert, it’s best to get a pack of flex tickets. These dateless tickets can be used at any of the concerts except for special concerts.
