For some of us, nothing beats packing up some gear, grabbing your favorite fishing buddy and hitting the waters. The day to day of modern life can and will sneak up on us. One day comes along and we just have to get away from it all. Having a break from your normal is not only necessary but very beneficial. Everyone needs a time to reset their mind and body. This helps us be better, more productive people. There are many places where you can go fishing but consider coming trout fishing in PA, we have some of the best streams and lakes around. Not sure where the best trout fishing in PA is? It’s right here in the Pocono Mountains! Let us at Ledges Hotel help show you some of our favorite places to go trout fishing in PA.
Our first recommendation for trout fishing in PA is to go to Toms Creek in the nearby Delaware Water Gap. The Delaware Water Gap is known for having some of the best trails and areas for outdoor recreation. Besides the fishing, Toms Creek also has a gorgeous trail leading up to the water. It’s an easy mile when you come in from Toms Creek picnic area. Before you drop a line in these waters, be sure you have PA fishing license complete with trout stamp. The rules for this area are, catch and release as well as artificial lures only.
Our other favorite place to go trout fishing in PA is at Lackawanna State Park. Located 45 minutes away from us at Ledges, this is an ideal fishing spot because it’s just far away without sacrificing your whole day just to get there. At Lackawanna State Park is their Lackawanna Lake, a 198 acre lake that has trout as well as many other species of fish like walleye, catfish, and largemouth bass. This is a popular spot because it is easy to get to and there are over 7 miles of shoreline so you won’t risk being in someone else’s way. If you have kids coming with you, head over to Trostle Pond, which is 3 acres, and is for zoned for youth fishing for kids aged 12 and under. You can also fish off of the pier by the boat launch. This spot is ADA compliant for those who love fishing but can’t get on the shore. Regular PA fishing rules apply here. Be sure to visit the PA Fish and Boat Commission site to find out what their regulations are.
